This policy explains how Bible Daily Moment handles information when you read Scripture, request a personalized passage, vote, contact us, donate, or use other features on this website.
Information you provide
Our contact form collects your first name, last name, email address, selected subject, and message. These details are stored privately for the website administrator to review and respond to your inquiry. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information about yourself or other people.
The personalized passage feature sends the words you enter to our server to match them with passage tags and search terms. The application does not save those words as a search history or include them in social sharing messages. Your input may describe private situations or feelings; use only the detail needed to find a passage.
Voting, cookies, and browser storage
You can vote without creating an account. When you vote, we set a cookie called bdm_voter containing a randomly generated browser identifier. It expires after approximately one year. We store this identifier with voting records to apply the once-per-day limit; public results display verse totals, not browser identifiers. Clearing or blocking this cookie can affect voting controls.
Your Voice Selection preference is saved in your browser’s local storage so it can be remembered on later visits. You can remove it by clearing this site’s browser data. WordPress also uses cookies for administrator sign-in.
Technical information and security
Our hosting provider and infrastructure may process IP addresses, browser information, request times, and server logs to deliver and protect the website. Our application uses a keyed hash derived from an IP address to enforce search limits and help prevent abuse. The application does not store the raw IP address in its search cooldown table. These records are not a public user profile.
Google AdSense and advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. Advertising services may also process IP addresses, device information, and interactions with ads.
You can manage or opt out of personalized Google advertising through Google My Ad Center. You can also visit YourAdChoices for participating third-party vendors’ choices. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and review Google’s Privacy Policy.
Where applicable, an advertising consent message provides choices concerning cookies and personalized advertising. Browser cookie controls and advertising settings offer additional choices. This policy itself does not collect or record consent.
Donations and external services
Donation buttons open PayPal. PayPal processes payments under its own Privacy Statement. We do not collect your payment card details on this website. PayPal may provide the account holder with donation transaction details and information about the donor.
Social sharing buttons open external platforms or your device’s share menu. The prepared message may include your selected verse, chapter, and a page link. Sharing happens when you choose to use these features; review the message before posting. External platforms handle information according to their own policies.
The Voice feature uses your browser or device’s speech service to read Bible text. Depending on the selected voice and provider, text may be processed locally or by a remote speech service. We do not record your voice or request microphone access for this feature.
Use, access, and retention
We use information to operate the site, respond to messages, maintain voting results, remember preferences, prevent abuse, and support advertising and donations. Website administrators and service providers may access information needed for these purposes. We do not directly sell your contact messages or personalized search input. Advertising providers may process information under their own policies and applicable privacy rules.
Contact messages, vote records, and security records are retained as needed to operate the service, handle inquiries, and address abuse or legal obligations. The current application does not automatically delete all of these records on a fixed schedule. Hosting backups may retain copies after information is removed from active storage.
Your choices and requests
You can clear browser storage, adjust advertising choices, and choose not to use optional forms or sharing features. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, or to make other privacy choices. Contact us through the Contact Us page and select General question or Other. We may need to verify a request before acting on it. Anonymous vote records may not be identifiable from a name or email address alone.
Children and policy changes
This site is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the contact form. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information can contact us to request review and removal.
We may update this policy as features or service providers change. The date at the top indicates the most recent update. For privacy questions, please use our Contact Us page.
